06-28 lessons in mankato

Hello all!

I'm Kate Friedrichs, a fellow swing dancer in the Mankato area, and I most likely received your name and email address from Sam Mikkalson. Sam identified many of you as fellow swing dancers, so I just wanted to let you know about an opportunity to practice dancing in Mankato (well, North Mankato) this summer!

Here's the scoop!

Who: You! And anyone else interested in swing dancing! :)
What: Swing dance practice
When: This Wednesday, June 28th at 8:00 pm until ??? (possible "get to know your fellow dancers" time around a campfire later in the evening)
Where: 1944 Howard Drive, North Mankato, MN
Why: To practice and enjoy swing dancing, of course, and to meet other fellow dancers in the area! New dancers welcome--we are available to teach and give tips, or we can all just practice depending on the needs of the group.

A friend of mine, Jamison Valenta, and I are hoping to make this a regular event, and we need your support! If you are planning to attend, please let us know by responding to this email. Or, if you like the idea, and can't make it this week but would come in the future, also let us know! Finally, if you have any suggestions, we are open to those as well!

I will be using myspace instead because of the calendar option it has. It is www.myspace.com\mankatoswing. I am also not going to go dancing as much this summer but I will try and keep it updated with events and the likes.

Friday 04-21-06 @ West High School and Kato Ballroom

TIMES for tonight
West 8:30-10:30 in the Gymnasism at West. This is a fundraiser event and I do not know the cost.
Ballroom 7:30-11 This event does cost $10

Just letting everyone know that there is dancing this week at the ballroom (The Echo's are playing) and at West High School. The ballroom is a dress up event and I must say that I massivly enjoyed the Echo's last time I saw them! I might start at West and head to the Mankato ballroom afterwards. Let me know if anyone is interested. Also, I got my phone wet so anyone's number I had before I no longer have it. If you want me to have it still just send me a text message or call me at 507.382.6072.

Midwest Lindy Fest May 5th-7th

Here is the site for the event: http://rhythmpursuits.com/mwlf/2006/index.php. The have a boot camp that I am most defiently down for! This is in the cities so there is no reason not to go. For all 3 days of the event it is $125 and the boot camp is $50. I am mostly interested in going to the boot camp, but the rest of the events do sound pretty quality!

Also, it is filling up fast so let me know if you are coming so I can figure out if people need a place to stay in the cities or if they need a ride!

Ok, some people are heading up early to test drive some BMW motorcycles so if anyone is interested in that they are also more then welcome to come up. Those checking out the bikes will be leaving around 10 AM and spending the day up in the cities while others will be leaving around 6 (I will double check this and update it) from Mankato also. *** I will be coming back and leaving at 6 ot 7 depending on who comes. We will be meeting at 1626 4th Ave. You can give me a call or anyone else that is going a call for directions.
